The mint julep will always be Kentucky’s classic cocktail. However, this Southeastern state can also make a mean “hard lemonade.” Anyone who wants to add some Southern flavor to a “citrusy sipper” will love this sweet and sour Bluegrass beverage.

Plus, since more Kentuckians are getting into hemp farming, we thought it’d be fitting to add a dropperful of Tribe CBD oil. You’ll be amazed how much extra relaxation a little CBD adds to this delectable cocktail.

Tribe’s CBD Kentucky Lemonade Cocktail

A Bright Bev From The Bluegrass State — Tribe's CBD Kentucky Lemonade

Most people know Kentucky is famous for bourbon production, but you may be surprised by this state’s commitment to its staple spirit. For instance, did you know Kentucky accounts for 95 percent of the world’s bourbon supply? In fact, there are more barrels of bourbon in Kentucky than there are Kentuckians!

Kentucky also has the distinction of housing the world’s oldest bourbon distillery. In 2001, Guinness World Records awarded the Maker’s Mark factory with this honor. Incredibly, Maker’s Mark has been distilling its signature bourbon since 1805.

By the way, nobody knows how “bourbon” got its name. Some people say it’s related to Kentucky’s Bourbon County, but Louisianans believe it’s named after their beloved Bourbon Street. Either way, there’s some French influence in this spirit’s name. If you remember your course in European history, you should know the Bourbons were a prominent royal family from the 16th through the 18th century.

Although Kentucky is better known for bluegrass, bourbon, and baseball bats, this state has many interesting secondary claims to fame. Be sure to impress your friends with a few of these facts as you’re mixing your refreshing KY Lemonade:

  • Both Johnny Depp and George Clooney were born in Kentucky.
  • Kentucky residents wrote “Happy Birthday.”
  • Kentucky’s Fort Knox holds about 147.3 million ounces of gold.
  • Kentucky has the world’s busiest Corvette manufacturing plant.
  • Abe Lincoln was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky (take that, Illinois!).
